3 Police constables killed in Batticaloa
3 Police constables were killed and another injured when a bomb exploded within 400m distance of the Ayanthamalai Police post in Batticaloa this evening (23rd) say Police sources.
3 constables who had gone to bathe in the lake nearby were killed in the explosion said Police Spokesperson DIG Ranjith Gunasekara, adding that it is believed to be a time bomb set by tiger terrorists who had infiltrated the area.
The injured identified as PC Amila has been rushed to the general Hospital at Batticaloa.
The Police and security forces personnel are conducting search operations in the area.
