Air Force jets strike at LTTE recruit training center in Mullaittivu

Air Force fighter jets launched precision air strikes at an identified LTTE recruit training center located 3km West of Mankulama in Mullaittivu, Sunday(Sep 7) at 10.20 am.

According to Air Force Spokesperson Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara, the air sorties were carried out successfully. LTTE is yet to release details of losses.

Earlier, around 4.15 am, the SLAF’s MI-24 helicopter gunships had launched extensive air assaults at a pre-identified sea tiger camp named ‘Kadal’ located at Kavitharamunai, in Pooneryn, West of Kilinochchi.

The facility is reported to have been used by the LTTE for training and coordinating activities and as a launch pad for LTTE infiltration groups into the Jaffna Peninsula, defence sources further said.
