New dual rail track from Panadura to Kalutara South open today
The new dual rail track from Panadura to Kalutara South will be declared open today (28).
The rail track constructed at a cost of Rs. 146 million comprises a new signal system installed at a cost of Rs. 50 million.
Construction work of the next phase of this project, dual track from Kalutara South to Aluthgama will also commence today. The estimated cost for this project would be around Rs.250 million.
Transport Ministry also announced that the second new railway bridge across the Kaluganga will be opened today.
