GCE O/L exam papers in a new format
G.C.E. Ordinary Level question papers are to be designed according to a new structure,aimed at measuring students’ intelligence, logical approach and thinking power, qualities needed for current requirements,Commissioner General of Examinations Anura Edirisinghe said.
Question papers have so far assessed only the memory power of the student and the measurement of intelligence and other qualities have been relatively neglected, contrary to the practice in many other countries. According to the current practice, students to memorise answers by-heart.
The first Ordinary Level Examination under the new approach is scheduled to be held in December. The students who sit the examination first time can face this new examination while the private and second time candidates will have the old format.
