Beruwela clash kills two
Two persons were reported killed and nine others injured during a clash between two rival factions in Beruwela late last night (July 24). A mosque in the area too was set on fire following the clash.
Police curfew has been imposed in some areas of Beruwela due to the prevailing tense situation. The areas where curfew has been imposed are Mahagoda, Beruwela-Maradana and Hettimulla, says Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera. This follows a clash between two factions late Friday and early Saturday.
