Stock Market rose well in June
The June monthly report of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) claimed the market greatly appreciated in June with the All Share Price Index up by 9.76 per cent and Milanka at 8.01 per cent.
The figures for July is yet to be released but financial analysts predict that there could be a further growth in the figures of last month that wound up two days ago.
The Turnover in June rose to Rs.16.2 billion from Rs.13.5 billion in May. The growth was attributed to domestic investors.
The domestic turnover was up to Rs.11.5 billion in June from Rs.8.7 in May.Foreign participation indicated a slight drop from Rs.4.9 billion in May where June recorded Rs.4.7 billion.
The report noted that market price earning ratio during the month of June was up 13.96 per cent while the dividend yield during the month recorded a drop to 8.07 per cent.Market capitalisation at Rs.775.4 billion was up 8.9 per cent during June, the report added.
