Chief monk killed, assailants unknown
The chief incumbent of the Medulla Viharaya in Hettipola has been killed last night. The monk has been attacked with sharp weapons, said Police spokesman SSP Prashantha Jayakody.
The motive behind the killing or the persons involved has not been established yet, according to police.
