LTTE has lost capability of fighting as a conventional force!

Army Commander: LTTE terrorists have lost the capability to fight as a conventional force due to overall military strategy relentlessly carried out by Sri Lanka forces said Army Commander Lt. Gen. Sarath Fonseka.

Addressing members of Sri Lanka Foreign Correspondents Association (FCA) at the Army Headquarters Lt. Gen. Fonseka said tiger organization would be reduced to a “rag-tag terrorist outfit” within one year.

About 9,000 terrorists have been killed by government troops since the government launched its military offensive in August 2006 said Commander Fonseka.  1,700 government troops were also killed and 4,000 injured during this period said Army Commander Sarath Fonseka.

He said tiger movement still has about 5000 fighters but “their capability has gone out.” He said within about one year all tiger held territory would be captured.
