Former Liberal cabinet minister Allan Rock reaffirmed his commitment to the University of Ottawa’s bilingual roots and hinted at plans, as the university’s next president, to propel the school onto the world stage.
Mr. Rock, 60, whose five-year term is expected to be made official at a news conference this morning, outlined his ambitions for his alma mater in a wide-ranging interview with the Citizen yesterday.
He also ruled out a return to federal politics, saying his stint as Canada’s ambassador to the United Nations taught him a lesson.
