[ad#200×200]Sri Lanka Army took total control over an LTTE stronghold in the Manniyankulama area today (16), Media Center for National Security announced.

The area is located 13.5 Northeast of Nachchikuda and the troops of the 58 Division operating in the Western Kilinochchi battlefront seized the area, signifying another victory against the enemy whose activities are now confined to a small terrain in the Northern part.

According to military sources, troops are now consolidating defences in the area.

It is reported that a large number of terrorists were killed in confrontations with troops battling to liberate the area from the grasp of the LTTE.
