Underscoring the need to ensure the safety of the thousands entrapped, he further urged that the UN, ICRC and the international community should exert more pressure on the LTTE.
Reiterating that there will be no ceasefire with the LTTE, and that the military would destroy the LTTE shortly, the Secretary Defence was optimistic that there would be no extension of the ultimatum.
