MULLAITTIVU: AT LEAST twenty-nine Tiger terrorists were killed and another similar score was injured following Monday (16) morning clashes in the eastern area of IRUNAPALAI, PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU.
So far, fourteen dead bodies of Tiger terrorists, twenty-five T-56 weapons, five LTTE made mortar launchers, two I-com communication sets, two remote controllers have been recovered by troops from the confronted area.
Security Forces also captured one kilo meter long LTTE Earth Bund in the general area south east of PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU following clashes.
Four hundred and seventy-eight (478) Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) including one hundred and ninety children have also arrived in the Security Forces held area of PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU after escaping from LTTE by Monday (16) evening.
Arrangements are being made by troops to send them to IDP relief villages at the time this report was filed.
