The protest organized by the opposition against the detention of Rtd. Gen. Sarath Fonseka at Hulftsdorp has come under the attack of thugs sponsored by a Provincial council member attached to the Government, JVP MP Sunil Hadunnetti told Ada Derana.
Hadunnetti added that thugs were pelting stones at their peaceful protest while the police looked on.
When contacted by Ada Derana Police Spokesman Prishantha Jayakody said that according to the information he received from the Keselwatte Police no incidents were reported from the said area. (Ada Derana)
