The department of Police is preparing to install 100 Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras within the Colombo city limit with the intention of curbing crimes and easing traffic congestions said defence.lk.
A team of Police officers headed by Senior DIG Gamini Navaratne left for Singapore yesterday (16 May) to attend for a weeklong workshop and to conversant with operational aspect of the CCTV system.
According to DIG Navarathna, the network of cameras would be installed next month on the theme of creating a safe city under the Mahinda Chinthana, reported defence.lk.
