[ad#200×200] MONERAGALA: THE TIGER (LTTE) brutality of the worst form once again raised its ugly face in ETHIMALE remote village areas in KOTIYAGALA, close to the AMPARA-MONERAGALA district borders when infiltrated terrorists murdered seven innocent civilians cold-bloodedly Thursday (11) morning after they had gone for Chena cultivation work.
Three of those civilians have been shot down by Tiger terrorists with pistol shots at a close range on the very tractor they were using for cultivation work and firewood collection. Other four civilians have been silenced using T-56 weapons from a certain distance, the latest Police reports confirmed. Troops and Police rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area after the bloodbath which has occurred around 7.30 a.m. but was brought to their notice after some time by relatives of the slain farmers.
Initial investigations maintained Tiger terrorist elements on the flee either from YALA sanctuary or those who have infiltrated into the district would have triggered the brutal slaying of those unarmed civilians, purely dependent on cultivations for survival. Police with the active support of the troops were busy providing security to those areas at the movement and making arrangements with regard to judicial inquiries and other investigations. Hundreds of weeping and grief-stricken villagers stormed the areas and cursed Tigers for their thirst for blood as the news spread.
