[ad#200×200]At around 15:00 hours on the 23rd October, 2008 an unruly group had attempted to forcibly enter the premises of the Sri Lanka Deputy High Commissioner’s Office situated at No. 196, TTK Road, Alwarpet, Chennai 600-018.
In their attempt to break in, they had damaged the Mission’s security post and it’s Notice Board. A stone thrown from outside and directed at the Mission had hit one of the officers of the Mission.
This matter was brought to the notice of the Indian authorities and action was taken immediately to intensify security for the premises and personnel in the Office of the Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai.
