A police official says former lawmaker Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra and two of his supporters were killed today (Saturday) in an intraparty shootout during local council elections.
Curfew has been imposed in Mulleriyawa police division till 6am tomorrow (Oct. 9) due to the incident and investigation has been handed over to the CID. So far five people including MP Duminda Silva who were injured in the shootout currently receiving medical treatment at Jayawardenapura Hospital.
