Bank of Ceylon has called for expression of interest from international hotel chains to manage its subsidiary, the 200 room Grand Oriental Hotel a landmark built during British times overlooking Colombo port.
Application in this regard will be closed on 20th November, and the investor should be able to develop and manage the hotel under an international brand name.
Grand Oriental Hotel (GOH), owned by Bank of Ceylon, is a heritage hotel built in 1837 during British colonial rule and located in the heart of the capital city facing the harbor. It has a large banquet hall and large car park. The Bank prefers to have investors with past experience in managing international hotels preferably heritage hotels.
A part of the building now occupied by the Bank of Ceylon offices will be vacated soon.
