The appellate court today (Jan 31) decided to postpone hearing the petition file by Sarath Fonseka, against the annulment of his seat in Parliament, by almost four months.
The former Army Commander was produced at court when the petition was taken up today.
Attorneys representing Fonseka had stated that an appeal has been submitted to the Supreme Court challenging the verdict of the second Court Martial.
The Appeal Court judge bench comprising Judges Ranjith de Silva and Nalin Perera postponed hearings on the appeal until the verdict on the pending Supreme Court case is delivered and said the petition will be taken up again on May 30.
