[ad#200×200]TROOPS serving NAGARKOVIL Forward Defence area and KILALY Defence Line areas in JAFFNA overpowered two infiltration attempts of the terrorists late night on Wednesday (24) at about 10.00 p.m. after opening fire on them.
Simultaneous attempts at NAGARKOVIL and KILALY claimed the lives of eight Tiger terrorists, including the LTTE’s MUHAMALE South leader, ‘VARDAN’ as a result of the strong fire-power of the alert troops.
A search conducted later on by the troops collected one of the dead terrorists. It is believed two separate groups of terrorists while simultaneously trying to enter through troop defences, expected to trick the troops into a trap.
