[ad#200×200]AT least two persons have been killed and thirty more were injured, three of them critically when a motorbike-riding LTTE suicide bomber rammed the main entrance of the COLOMBO Air Force Headquarters at about 5.15 p.m. Friday (2) and blew himself up apparently on the trail of a high profile target.
Initial reports said the suicide bomber on the motorbike has reached the main entrance at breakneck speed and rammed it causing a huge blast that severed the body of the Tiger into pieces as the rush hour traffic was reaching to its peak after closure of both government and private sector offices for the day.
Two Air Force personnel serving the main entrance are among the fallen following the explosion. The road was sealed off immediately as the security was further beefed up, diverting traffic across other roads. A few vehicles have sustained damages in the blast.
